Prof. Lina Badimon is the Director of the Cardiovascular Research Center (CSIC-ICCC) in Barcelona, created under the scope of the Catalan Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (ICCC), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the Hospital Santa Cruz and San Pablo, and the School of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is also Lecturer Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine - Cardiology - at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York.
Her research activities focus on atherosclerosis, thrombosis and vascular pathology. She has published over 400 articles in highly qualified scientific journals and books and her work has been repeatedly quoted in the scientific literature. Presently Prof. Badimon is the Past-President of the Spanish Society of Atherosclerosis (1996-2000), Past-President of the European Society for Clinical Investigation (2000-2002). Past-Chairman of the Working Group on Thrombosis of European Society of Cardiology and Chair of the Working Group on Thrombosis of Spanish Society of Cardiology.
